I am doing what I can to help in the Unincorporated LA County area of Rancho Dominguez. While it may not seem like much is being accomplished, a majority of the work is happening behind the scenes.
What has made it complicated? Several businesses in the area have decided to place cement traffic barries or barriers filled with sand/cement without permits. This has created a safety issue. While I have attempted to work with everyone in the area, not everyone is willing to do the right thing.
Some believe I should be working for them even though they are not members or hace not contributed to the betterment of their own community. Unfortunately, I am now turning away anyone who is not financially supporting the Chamber of Commerce or contributing to the community.
The work being done on behalf of the business community is complicated. I am committed to helping the businesses in the Rancho Dominguez area. I have performed several clean ups, asked Union Pacific Railroad to clean up their property and created new relationships with law enforcement. This area has been without representation for awhile.
I am working to prevent the issues from other areas setting up in the Rancho Dominguez area. Now with Governor Newsom's directive on homeless encampment removals, the City of Long Beach has announced they will begin clearing out encampments in their city.
For the Rancho Dominguez area, the east side of Susanna Rd belongs to the City of Long Beach.
Starting Wednesday, August 21, I will work in the area supporting those businesses which have financially supported the chamber.
