Our Community Engagement.

Harbor Gateway South Neighborhood Council is now hosting in-person meetings at Halldale Elementary School on the 2nd Thursday of each month. These meetings provide stakeholders the opportunity to discuss current issues & concerns with elected leaders. During this meeting, we met various community leaders like John Davis from Avalon Gardens Community Association, Del Amo Action Committee, Bob Ruth from the Enclave, representatives from Caltrans, Assemblymember Mike Gibson's office, Congresswoman Nanette Barragan's office, Mayor Bass' office, and Councilmember Tim McOsker's office.

Tuesday, June 6th, we honored LAPD Southeast, LAFD Stations 64, 95, 79, and front line workers from Caltrans & Sanitation with lunch. A variety of options from Farmer Boy's, Jersey Mike's and Ralphs provided everyone with plenty of nourishment. As a Chamber, we are working closely to create strong relationships with our law enforcement agencies, Caltrans, CHP, LA Sanitation and LA County Public Works. Our next event is National Night on Tuesday, August 3rd. If you are interested in sponsoring, please click the link below

Our Unincorporated LA County areas have very active community groups which meet on a regular basis. John Davis from the Avalon Gardens Community Association hosted a meeting to discuss the county's proposed downzoning in the Unincorporated LA County Areas. Daria Brooks from the West Rancho Dominguez Community, various stakeholders from the East Gardena Community Group, Athens Park Concerned Citizens and Stop The Downzoning participated in this meeting. It is inspiring to witness businesses & community members working together to improve our quality of life. For more details on upcoming meetings, click the link
