Criminal Incidents

Over the past several weeks, we have experienced an uptick in burglaries especially vacant buildings. Thieves are stealling copper wiring, toilets, sinks and any items of value on the black market. Often times, the tenant or the building owner is not reporting these incidents. This creates the perfect opportunity for the thieves to continue to target our business corridors.
Reporting can often be done online depending on the extent of the damages. As reminder, if someone is in your building, please call or text 911. Do not call 311 or 211. Neither of these numbers are connected to law enforcement.

Every day, I drive the business corridors reporting the issues from graffiti, illegal dumping and homeless encampments. Often times, I will stumble upon a burglary or a stolen vehicle.
On Thursday, May 1st, I stumbled upon an open electric gate which had its chains damaged. Upon contacting the building owner, we discovered an individual trespassing on the property.
The Sheriff's department was dispatched and the individual was removed from the location.

Another incident of an individual entering a business during normal business hours without authorization and taking property. This same individual appears to be connected other incidents involving copper theft in the Caltrans area.

Saturday, April 26th AT&T fiber optic lines were cut along San Pedro & Compton Blvd in West Rancho Dominguez. I discovered this incident during my morning drive. AT&T asset protection was notified.
To report all AT&T vandalism issues, please contact (800) 924 9420
